Knowing me, knowing you

The last couple of days I have been struggling to find anything even remotely interesting to say.  My head is in a fog, partly from the codeine that I have to take every 4 hours to try and keep my cough at a manageable level, partly from a lack of sleep, and partly, I think, because I am still in a fog of sickness.  My friend Samantha at Blissful Domesticity  suggested that I try the Knowing me, … [Read more...]

Sick and tired

I feel like I haven't been able to catch a break. First my husband ended up sick and on IV antibiotics this weekend. Now I am sick, and on antibiotics and a puffer. I feel like a big, whiny baby, but I'm tired. I've been stressing about my husband for the past few days, and I just feel worn out. I was fighting this thing off this weekend, and I think I just need a rest. I'm mad that I'm missing … [Read more...]

A trip down memory lane high school style

Since, in a moment of insanity, I signed up for NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month, I have been trying to find things to write about every day for the next month.  In the last few months, I have been following Stasha's Monday Listicles link ups. I have seen some amazing lists and I will admit, I'm a bit nervous throwing my list into the mix. It looks like fun though, and I love reading all … [Read more...]

Gymnastics and other Saturday rituals

Saturdays are a special day to me. Every Saturday, with the exception of a few months in the summer, Q has his gymnastics class. If you think your kid might like gymnastics, why not have a look at something like gymnastics in grand rapids michigan? They might find that they've got a hidden passion. He has been going on Saturday mornings for almost as long he's been going to gymnastics, which is … [Read more...]

Best laid plans…

I had a plan for today's post all worked out in my head. Then today happened. It all started out fine, we went to gymnastics, then for our traditional post gymnastics Starbucks date. We headed off to the mall to get the Q man's hair cut. Then the day went a bit sideways. My husband called me - he was pretty sick and needed me to come pick him up to go to the hospital. So off to the ER we went. … [Read more...]

Why do I write?

As some of you may know, a couple of days ago, I signed myself up for something called National Blog Posting Month, or NaBloPoMo for short.  By doing this, I have committed (and am challenging) myself to blog every day for the month of November.  I'm joining thousands of other bloggers in this challenge, and although I'm nervous about it, I'm looking forward to improving my skills as a blogger, … [Read more...]

Unexpected changes

Sometimes, as I learned today, the changes that we are working towards don't always looks as we expect them to when we arrive.  I was at the store this afternoon with my husband, and I tried on a new ski jacket.  I have been going to the studio regularly 3-4 times a week, and have cleaned up my eating dramatically.  People have been commenting on the changes that they see in me.  I figured that … [Read more...]
