Grey Cup Sunday – random thoughts

Today was Grey cup Sunday here in Canada. For anyone who doesn't know, the Grey Cup is Canada's version of the Superbowl, but not as cool. The Grey Cup has a long history with Canadian football, which does make it pretty cool, but I personally prefer the NFL to the CFL. This year, the 99th Grey Cup was hosted in Vancouver. I think that after the Stanley Cup riot in the spring everyone was a bit … [Read more...]

Christmas is coming – some thoughts

I have just come to the alarming realization that it is now less than one month 'till Christmas. I love Christmas but I always find myself running around like a crazy woman a week before the holiday trying to get everything done, mail cards, buy presents and keep my head from generally exploding. Every year I say that I'll start earlier, and get my cards done and mailed by December 1st, but it … [Read more...]

Friday fuzzies

Allow me to introduce my fuzzy friends on this cold Friday.  They are our constant companions, and great friends, and they never talk back.   I have had pets since I was 5 years old, that they have always been such an important part of my life.  They are always there, through good times and bad, and never judge you, no matter how rough things get. I can’t strikes again…

Q seems to have a major case of "I can't" lately.  I don't know when or where it started, only that I don't want him to believe that there are things that he can't do.  So often, when we ask him to do something, he replies with "I can't...". Where is this coming from?  We try really hard not to say that we can't do things, especially in front of him, so I don't know how that idea got into his … [Read more...]

More kids?

Once again, since it's Monday, I am linking up with Stasha's Monday Listicles over at The Good Life.  This week's topic was chosen by Jen at Just Jennifer, and is 10 reasons why we do, or do not want more children. So with that, I present you with my list of why I don't plan to have any more children: 1. We currently have an ideal balance of humans to cats in the house.  3 humans, 3 cats.  I … [Read more...]

To my little boy, at three

My little boy. You are now three. It must be tough for you - you know that you're not a baby, but the big kids still don't want to play. You have so much going on in your head, but sometimes you just don't quite have the words to get your point across the way you want to. You get so frustrated sometimes that the only thing that you can think of to do is jump and yell. You want to be taken … [Read more...]
