Songs to make you smile 2 – Music Monday

I am not sure how the weather has been where you are, but here it has been gorgeous. Spring has truly arrived and the weather has been pretty much perfect, if not occasionally a bit warm, for my daily morning walks. This week has been pretty stressful for me, and let me tell you, stress and  CRPS are not a good combination. As a result, I’ve been dealing with some really high pain levels and I have been turning to music and exercise as two big ways to help me combat this.

So this week, my chosen playlist is pretty diverse, a collection of songs that made me smile. I was looking for stuff that made me want to sing along or dance walk along the path, not really caring too much who saw me. I hope you like it!

Cheap Thrills -Sia feat. Sean Paul

I heard this song the other day on my walk and really liked it. I have liked Sia since the first time I heard Breathe Meseveral years ago. Ballad or dance song, her voice has this power and tone to it that is so unique and interesting. This song is fun and I *may* have rolled an ankle dance-walking to it last week, haha.

Downtown -Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

I love, love love this song. It is impossible for me to listen to and not get a smile on my face. I challenge you to not grin like a maniac and want to get up and boogie while listening to this amazingly fun tune. There is just something special and unique about these guys that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Love Drunk- Andrew Hyatt

This song sounds familiar at the start and just turns into a sweet country love song. This is another walking discovery (thanks Spotify), having shown up on a country playlist I downloaded onto my phone. It’s funny how these songs that you might never have heard otherwise become favourites randomly, isn’t it? That is part of the reason I do these up every week, to introduce people to stuff they might not otherwise have heard. It’s got a good steady best to walk too as well, always a bonus.

Fast Car – Jonas Blue ft Dakota

I loved the original Tracy Chapman version of this song, so I wasn’t quite sure how I would feel about this new remixed version, but much to my surprise and delight I really enjoy it.

Out of Our Heads – Dropkick Murphys

What can I saw about DKM? I have Included them in at least one or two other Music Monday playlists because if their awesomeness. They really are one of my favourite bands, especially to see live. If you are not familiar with their style of Celtic Bonston working guy punk, you should be. The music is catchy, with really cool instrumentation and good lyrics. I can’t listen to a lot of their stuff without feeling the need to bob and bounce along happily.

So there you have it. I have tried to really mix up genres and musicians this week to give you a good overview of what I’m listening to. Do you have a favourite artist or genre that you’d like a playlist of? Please leave me a comment and let me know and I will do my best to put something rockin together!

I love comments! Care to share your thoughts?
