Leading Moms – in search of inspiration

Now that fall is here, the kids are back to school, and hustle and bustle are the new normal, I’m thinking that there are probably some people (myself included) who could use a little bit of inspiration and some new ideas.  Maybe you are feeling blah.  Maybe you want to get out and meet some new people or do some networking and socializing. Maybe, just maybe, you want to combine all of those things into one fun filled day.

If you’re with me on this, you might want to join me, and a group of amazing women at Leading Moms 2012. Featuring a diverse and spectacular group of women, ranging from Premier Christy Clark, who will be delivering the keynote address, to Tara McLean-Grand, from Ratana Stephens, who is the co-CEO and COO of Nature’s Path foods (yum!) to Nicole Bridger, who will be presenting a fashion show featuring local women, as well as many, many other interesting speakers, there are bound to be several who will inspire and challenge you.  On a personal note, I must admit, I am especially interested in hearing Tara McLean-Grand’s presentation, as her music is very inspiring to me and has helped me through some dark and difficult times in the past.  The speaker line-up includes key influencers in media, arts, entertainment, politics, science, business, education and more. In a mix of performance, video and live talks, our roster of moms will deliver personal talks straight from their heart. The closing keynote from Fiona Douglas-Crampton, CEO of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women.

The day starts with a breakfast which is sponsored by Nature’s Path ( I can’t wait!), which is included for all ticket holders, as well as anyone who might just like to come and socialize before work if they aren’t able to attend.  It is free for all, but you do need to pre-register.  As Leading Moms is presented by Vancouver Mom, Modern Mama, and Entrepreneur Mom Now Vancouver, they know their audience well, and are also offering free childcare by Nannies on Call.  As one more added bonus, there are some free shuttles sponsored by Chevrolet Canada for mamas coming from Langley and the TriCities areas, though they are limited by space.  This makes me so happy, as it means that I don’t have to deal with rush hour traffic!

All in all, this promises to be a day filled with new ideas, through provoking talks, and some good old fashioned connecting.   If you do decide to come, let me know, as I would love to connect in person and say hi!

When: Wednesday October 3rd, 2012 from 8:30am – 2:30pm

Where: HR MacMillan Space Centre (at the Planetarium)

If you are interested in attending, you can get your tickets here.

* As an Event Ambassador, I received a ticket to the event. I am very excited to go, as this promises to be one amazing day, and hope to see you there!*
