Junior Ranger

Yesterday an envelope arrived from the Statue of Liberty, addressed to Q. Inside was this letter and not one but 2 Junior Ranger badges from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It was a very exciting surprise, as this was completely unexpected. When we visited Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, we noticed that the Parks Department had signs for the Junior Ranger program around. In … [Read more...]

A visit to the Museum of Natural History

When we had our whirlwind trip to NYC a couple of months ago for my dad's memorial service, one of the things that Q wanted to do most was to visit the Museum of Natural History. He was very excited at the possibility of visiting there, as it was featured on an episode or two of Wild Kratts, as well as the Night at the Museum movies (but mostly because of the Wild Kratts, ha). Before we went, … [Read more...]

Our visit to the Timberline Country Christmas

Picnics, sea monsters, sloths and memories at the Vancouver Aquarium

Recently my mom, Q, my nieces and I made the trek into Vancouver to spend the day at the Vancouver Aquarium. I'm only partly joking when I say trek, as it takes a good hour and a half with cooperating traffic to get right downtown to the Aquarium. It also helps when you don't miss the turnoff to the aquarium and end up taking a scenic tour of Stanley Park, but that is a story for another day. My … [Read more...]
