All Star Wars all the time – Q’s views

It is pretty much all Star Wars all the time around my house lately. Q has loved Star Wars since he was really little, and had watched all 6 movies in numerical order ( as in Episode 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) a few times through by the time he was 4. The year he turned 4 he even requested a Darth Maul cake for his birthday. Since then, he has waxed and waned a bit from time to time, but like any loyal fan, he always comes back.

Of course, with my husband also being a huge Star Wars fan, we saw The Force Awakens in the theatre right when it opened, but you can never just watch a Star Wars movie once, am I right? So let’s just say we were excited to learn that Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be carried on Netflix as of July 15th. I really enjoyed the movie, even though I am not as hardcore in my love or knowledge of Star Wars as my guys. Rey and Finn are awesome new characters, and even though she is bad, how cool is it that Captain Phasma is a woman (a little bit of nerd trivia – Gwendoline Christie also plays Brienne of Tarth on GoT. I’m full of stuff like that.)
Q truly is a big fan. He has Star Wars figurines, light sabres galore, books, shirts, video games, you name it. He watches the Clone Wars (both the series and the movie), and knows way more characters than I ever will, so who better, though to tell you all about Star Wars in his own words? So without further ado, I will let him take it away!

Hi this is Quentin and I am going to talk about Star Wars The a Force Awakens and a bonus one – Star Wars the Clone Wars.

In Star Wars The Force Awakens, the main characters were Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. I’m not going to do any spoilers though. Rey lived in the desert of Tattoine and she was looking for stuff so that she could trade it for food. Finn was a First Order guy, and then he turned into a good guy when he left the First a Order because he was sick of killing people. Kylo Ren was a Sith Lord and he had a light sabre with two sides, almost like Darth Maul’s and Darth Vader’s combined together.

I liked the movie. My favourite part of the movie was when Rey stole the Millenium Falcon and then Han Solo and Chewy found them. The movie took place after Episode 6, The Return of the Jedi. In this movie, Han, Luke and Leia were old but not Chewy. I can’t even tell if Chewy is old! Rey was hunting in the desert and she found BB-8. He is a droid, almost like C-3PO and R2-D2 but he is small. He is smaller than both C-3PO and R2-D2 and he beeps to talk. There are lots of new guys in the movie – everyone except Chewy, Han, Luke, Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 are new characters. My favourite new character is Rey because I liked her. I did NOT like Kylo Ren at all because I do not like evil guys and my mum did not like him because she says he is whiny.

I was really excited when it came out. Every single Star Wars movie I have seen is really cool and really creative. I like that there are battles, Jedis and light sabers. I do not like any Sith Lords because they are evil. I love to play Star Wars all the time and I have lots of different Star Wars characters and light sabers that I play with at home. My all-time favourite Star Wars guy is Yoda because he is crazy when he fights and he lives to be 900 years old.

Now we will talk about Star Wars The Clone Wars. The episode that I want to talk to you about is “Jedi Crash”.
In “Jedi Crash” Anakin was hurt very bad when he was trying to save his friends Aayla Secura and Ahsoka Tano from an explosion. They got away when Anakin got hurt, on a planet where these lemur-like guys lived. Aayla Secura, who is a Twylek Jedi from Ryloth helps Ahsoka learn while they find medications to help Anakin. While they were searching, they ran into these lemur-like guys that I told you about before, who helped heal Anakin. The bad guys in this episode were B2 super battle droids and regular droids. They were trying to take over their ship but after the explosion they weren’t on the planet.

The Clone Wars took place between Star Wars Episode 2 and 3 movies. In the Clone Wars, the clones fight battle droids that Count Dooku, Ventress and General Grievous are making. They are making these battle droids so that they can destroy the Jedi. There are lots of different Jedi characters that you meet, for example, Kit Fisto, Luminara and her padawan Barriss Offee, and Aayla Secura. Anakin can still see the future and he has a padawan with him named Ahsoka Tano and they go on great adventures together.

I also wanted to show you some light sabre training in case you are interested or want to learn.

Thank you to Netflix for giving me this opportunity to talk about Star Wars and I hope you give me this opportunity to talk about Star Wars again next year or even sooner. I really appreciated it. I am happy to talk about Star Wars anytime. Thank you again and I hope you enjoyed this Q’s views all about Star Wars.

So there you have it. As you can tell, I have a very passionate, future Jedi on my hands. He dreams of going to Disneyland and doing the Jedi training there one day, and has trained everyone from his dad, to his cousins, to his Lola’s good friend in the ways of the Jedi. Lest you wonder if I’ve been trained too, I currently hold the rank of padawan. I’m not very good though, being broken and all that but he takes pity on me and doesn’t make me train, just do lessons.

I love seeing him so excited and passionate about things, and since he has been watching Clone Wars, I have learned a lot more characters! The guys are even trying to get me to watch it, so I will be sure to share once I have. You can watch both the movie and all 6 seasons of the show on Netflix, so I suspect that once I start, I’ll be watching for quite a while!

Are you and your family Star Wars fans? Who are your favourite characters? And the big question – what is the proper way to watch the movies?
We are a part of the Netflix StreamTeam, and get to share some of our favourites with you each month. We do receive some fun perks from Netflix for being part of the team, however, all opinions and thoughts are our own, and as always, we’re sharing because we truly think you will enjoy it.
